active lifestyles and are training to improve our performance
and prevent injury. We understand the challenges you face, as
well as the strengths you can draw on to achieve your goals.

Guided Workouts Improve Performance and Prevent Injury
Strength Training at Balance Physical Therapy is a POWERFUL
alternative to a gym membership! Our Physical Therapists ARE
ALSO Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists, Athletic
Trainers and Experienced Athletes. Workouts are FUN and ever-changing
to challenge your body, mind and spirit.
Customized Personal Training
Personal Training - Our customized personal training programs
are designed to increase your strength, agility and balance,
enhance muscle and cardiovascular endurance, and improve your
coordination. You can work 1:1 or 1:2 with a Certified Strength & Conditioning
Specialist/Physical Therapist or Certified Athletic Trainer/Physical
Therapist. You will be amazed at what you can achieve when you
learn how your body moves, proper body mechanics and how to challenge
yourself safely.
Functional Circuit Training
“State of the art equipment combined with your body weight and
gravity…a serious workout.”
Led by a Physical Therapist who is ALSO a Certified Strength & Conditioning
Specialist or a Certified Athletic Trainer, functional circuit
training at Balance combines strength exercises with endurance/aerobic
exercises, providing the benefits of a cardiovascular and a strength
training workout.
Functional training means that the exercises reproduce real-life
movements like pulling, reaching, bending, lifting. It includes
full body strengthening using balance, agility, plyometrics while
emphasizing core muscle stability.
Functional Circuit Training is for anyone interested in exercising
at a moderate to high level. Each exercise has an easy, moderate
and difficult option and resistance can be set to individual
needs and goals.
Sports Performance and Injury Prevention
There is a unique and specific benefit to working with us because
of our combination of skills and expertise; we are Physical Therapists
who are either Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
(Chris Pierce) or certified Athletic Trainer (Pete Olson). We
are also actively training ourselves. We know how to build a
program that will improve your speed, agility, power and overall
performance.
Injury Prevention - Numerous studies indicate that certain exercises
will not only prevent injuries but improve your speed, agility,
power and overall performance. We have developed programs specifically
to teach athletes exercises to prevent injuries that are extremely
common in athletes who play soccer, lacrosse, football, basketball,
baseball, rugby, field hockey, volleyball, and tennis, as well
as athletes who ski or play ice hockey. We take medical conditions
and pre-existing injuries into special consideration when designing
your program.
Yoga
At Balance we believe that the integration of body mind and
spirit supports good health. Balance Physical Therapy hosts Amy
Spencer, certified Yoga Instructor and owner of Niralambaya Yoga
www.gracesimplyis.com .
Yoga can be applied to the management of chronic conditions
and injury rehabilitation. It can be used in conjunction with
other therapies, such as Physical Therapy to assist the recovery
and healing process. With a qualified instructor, yoga can be
modified to accommodate a multitude of physical limitations.
Yoga can help increase circulation, mobility, and strength. It
is an effective method to reduce stress and support you on your
path towards emotional and physical well-being.
Amy has been practicing and teaching for over ten years. Amy
teaches a style of Yoga that is eclectic and fun. She will teach
you at every level of your journey (beginner through advanced)
and will always encourage you to work at your own pace. Amy enjoys

that Yoga can offer. She is a source of inspiration and joy to
everyone in her class.

"When I was searching for a personal
trainer I knew that I wanted someone who could customize
a program to fit me. I wanted to increase my strength and
balance. I also really wanted the exercise to be fun. I
knew if I was having fun then I would continue. Chris inspires
and motivates me. I laugh a lot with him and the other
people at Balance. And I am stronger than I ever imagined
I could be. Chris has taught me how to do everyday movements
in a way that prevents back pain and injuries. Strong is
my new normal!"
